The Secrets of Successful Inventors by John Hobbs
|
John R. Hobbs learned success from having struggled for years and
wasting tens of thousands of dollars on services that were no needed
when he received them. While working through the invention process
of taking his concept to market he met thousands of struggling
inventors and discovered a unique approach that will help them reach
their dream. Most inventors only have part of the formula for success.
In “The Secrets of Successful Inventors” John divulges the missing
pieces necessary to attract resources needed to bring inventions from
ideas to reality. Scores of successful inventors were interviewed for
this book and their secrets are shared with the reader. John let us
know, “I am committed in educating other inventors so they do not
make the mistakes I did. The tools I suggest can work for you!”
My name is John R. Hobbs. I wrote this book from knowledge based on
first-hand experience and observations of other successful and
unsuccessful inventors. The information contained within its pages will
help you no matter what stage you’re at in developing your invention –
even if your inventions on the market now and not doing well. My intent
is to help you to put all the components into place before you start
spending money or before it’s to late.
If you are at the very beginning stages of invention with our information
you will easily be able to make a decision to move forward with your idea
or not – before you invest a lot of time and money. If you do find you
have a viable concept worth pursuing this book will provide guidance to
help you achieve your goal: to get your product to market in less time
with and with less wasted money. Because you do the action steps one
at a time you’re building your dream on a solid foundation that makes
your journey easier and more enjoyable.
If you already started developing your idea you will easily be
able to evaluate it for market viability analyzing whether your invention is
worth the investment. If the concept has a reasonable chance of
success, applying the knowledge contained within these pages will
surely make your journey faster, easier and much more enjoyable.
If you have a product already on the market and its is not doing well
information presented in this book will help you figure out the missing
pieces of the puzzle allowing you to implement a successful strategy.
For most inventors a common missing piece is the lack of a “clear,
concise, powerful and quick” message to convey your idea and provide
the proper sales tools for buyers. The book provides you an example as
a suggestion. Remember, it will usually take longer and cost more to get
a product to market than you think so be persistent and keep striving
to succeed and you will!
In Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, I quote from his chapter
on persistence he wrote “I’ve had the happy privilege of analyzing both
Mr. Thomas Edison and Mr. Henry Ford, year by year, over a long period
of years and, therefore, the opportunity to study them at close range.
Therefore, I speak with actual knowledge when I say I found no quality,
save Persistence, in either of them, that even remotely suggested the
major source of their stupendous achievements.”

Action Step 1
Putting the Idea in Writing
This step allows you to start working out many issues while simultaneously
developing clarity about your invention. The more clearly you can convey your
invention’s benefits, the faster your journey to a mass market will be. This step
will also help you develop a verbal and written message that is compelling to the
target audience. Begin with a written description of your idea. Jot down every
feature of your invention, and stress every detail that you think will be a benefit to
potential consumers. Buyers want to know what the product will do for them
much more than they want to know how it works. Never assume they will infer
benefits from describing the features – they need to be told why this is good for
them. I made that mistake and it nearly cost me everything. I marketed my
invention, Athletes’ Oasis®, at trade shows and spent nearly all of my time
stressing what it was and not how it was beneficial. Therefore, as you create
your drawing with all of the features, be sure to write down how those features
are going to benefit the buyer. Draw a picture of it, or better yet, make a 3D
model so you can see it from all angles. And when you’re done with your drawing
put it away, then look at it the next day, and again the next day. You’ll find that
with prolonged attention two things will happen: First, you’ll be able to find ways
to improve it and second, perhaps more importantly, you’ll retain the same
passion you had as when it first struck you that you had a good idea that people
will need, buy and use.
Hi John,
I just wanted to express my sincere heart felt
gratitude for all you’ve done for me. My
business was heading in the wrong direction
when I attended one of your business
meetings. You quickly assessed some of my
weaknesses and started to provide me with
tools that helped guide my business in the
right direction.
Then you started giving me direction that kept
my business moving forward. When you
finally ask me for some help I was grateful for
the opportunity. The help you were asking for
was to pre-edit your manuscript for The
Secrets of Successful Inventors. The process
of working through the material, with you,
helped me more than I helped you! I’m now
more focused and your manuscript provided
me the necessary tools all inventors and
business people needs to grow.
With your assistance I am now attracting
affluent high-caliber people into my business
and personal life. This has allowed me to
attain success much faster than I had
anticipated. THANK YOU!! I am forever
grateful!
